Hi all,
I am an Australian composer, and I wrote some music for an Australian production
of The Laramie Project, staged by
Eagle Eyed Productions. I am very happy to say that I was involved with the
recent Laramie: Ten Years Later readings by way of offering my music to various theatre companies to use on the
night, in whatever way they saw fit for the occasion.
My
representative and I contacted a few theatre companies, and I'm proud to say
that the music was used in my hometown of Melbourne, (the play was produced by
Red Stitch Actors Theatre), Christchurch, New Zealand, (where it was put on by
Hagley Theatre Company), and in two venues in the US; Dallas Texas, (Dallas
Theater Center) and in Los Angeles by Grand Performances.
The Laramie Project has become a very important piece of theatre to me, as it reflects values that I hold close; tolerance and respect. When I heard about the Ten Years Later readings, I wanted to be involved, and play a part in the production.
Tectonic Theater Project have been very supportive, and gave their approval for
the music to be released on iTunes. If you’d like more information, I can be
reached at info@andrewharrison.com.au, or
through my website www.andrewharrison.com.au.
I look forward to hearing more great stories about the recent Laramie readings!
Cheers
ANDREW HARRISON
